God Working Through You
Day 6
Today’s
Scripture:
Matthew 21:12-14 (TPT)
Upon entering Jerusalem Jesus went directly into the temple area and drove away all the merchants who were buying and selling their goods. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the stands of those selling doves. And he said to them, “My dwelling place will be known as a house of prayer, but you have made it into a hangout for thieves!” Then the blind and the crippled came into the temple courts, and Jesus healed them all. And the children circled around him shouting out, “Blessings and praises to the Son of David!”
Thought for Today:
As we have seen, first the clutter was removed identifying the dwelling place and purpose as a house of prayer. After this is done more of God’s glory is displayed in the story. I like it that the scripture says, “Then.” In other words, now that things are in their proper place and order, the Lord’s loving grace flows freely. Then the blind and the crippled came into the temple courts, and Jesus healed them all. This short sentence explodes with the loving presence of our Father; the blind and crippled came to the temple courts. Wow!
This paints a beautiful picture of God’s goodness. 2 Corinthians 6:1 tells us, we are “God’s coworkers.” We are working together with God. He grants to us the blessing of being a conduit, a channel, of His loving kindness. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit and as we become saturated with His presence the blind and crippled both physically and spiritually will be drawn to us for healing. Now look again at the verse, “and Jesus healed them all.”
That’s our Lord, demonstrating His will, His desire, and His love. He healed them all. Do you see it? That’s you. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 3:16), you are the one bringing glory and honor to The Father as He touches the lives of those around you. I have a question for you, “Why Not You?” You have the dwelling presence of the Holy Spirit even when you don’t feel like it. Yes, and even when you don’t act like it. Why Not You? God the Father, has called you to be a coworker with Him. Jesus said it beautifully in Matthew 4:14, “You are the light of the world.
A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” You are really something. You and The Lord are a winning combination. You truly can do all things through Christ who gives you the strength. (Phil. 4:13).
Prayer:
Father, You truly are so very good. Thank You for inviting me into ministry with You. Your goodness and kindness continue to amaze me. For You are good and Your mercies are everlasting. I ask that You continue to reveal Yourself to me. Show me Your ways. Be glorified in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
