Let God’s Peace Guard You

Day 3

Today’s
Scripture:

Phil 4:6-7 (NKJV)
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Thought for Today:

Yesterday, we looked at the Lord’s word to us to stop allowing stress to control our lives. He wants us to turn everything over to Him by putting our trust in Him. Today let’s look at the rest of those verses, “and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” What a wonderful promise.

As we refuse to be anxious or “stressed out” and present our situation to the Lord believing His promise, we are guaranteed a wonderful blessing from Him. His peace that that goes far beyond all understanding will guard our hearts and minds when we place our confident trust (faith) in Him and believe His Word. This is something so spectacular and so amazing. This verse promises that the Lord’s supernatural peace, which goes beyond our human understanding, will bring peace and rest to our hearts and minds.

This means that in the midst of any situation even if it looks hopeless and devastating God’s supernatural peace will uphold and strengthen us. This is why Jesus could sleep in the boat during a terrible storm (Matt.8), and Peter was sleeping in prison chained between two guards (Acts 12). Their trust and confidence was in the Father God. I would like to encourage you today to meditate upon God’s great love for you. He is for you not against you. He desires for you to be victorious. He is good and His Word does not pass away.

Trust in the Lord, place your confident trust (faith) in Him. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is good.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your wonderful words of life. Lord it is my desire to trust You more. I commit to You this day refusing to let worry and stress dominate my thinking. You are my deliverer. You are my strength. You are my answer. I declare and confess, Jesus, You are Lord over my spirit, soul, and body. I make You Lord over my thinking and my attitude. I determine today to trust You and Your Word. Thank You for loving me and never giving up on me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Make it a great day,
Pastor Kit
