Righteousness is a Gift

Day 18

Today’s
Scripture:

Romans 5:17
Death once held us in its grip, and by the blunder of one man, death reigned as king over humanity. But now, how much more are we held in the grip of grace and continue reigning as kings in life, enjoying our regal freedom through the gift of perfect righteousness in the one and only Jesus, the Messiah!

Thought for Today:

Jesus Christ has given you the “GIFT” of righteousness. 2 Cor 5:21 says, “For He (God) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (NKJV) When you accepted Jesus as your Lord, He gave to you the wonderful gift of His righteousness. That means you stand before God as His pure child with nothing separating you and Him. God is righteous and He has given every believer the GIFT of His righteousness. The gift is not given to you because you have done anything righteous or good, but because of Jesus’ dying your death and taking your sin, He has given to you the Gift of His righteousness. You can never be any more spiritually righteous than you are the moment you accept Jesus as Lord.

This means that God isn’t mad at you. God loves you like His own Son, even when you don’t act right. If the devil can attack your heart with condemnation, shame, and guilt he can render you ineffective and powerless. This is why the scripture encourages us, “So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to Him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.” Rom.8:1-2 (NLT) Condemnation is that power that devalues you. Condemnation brings shame and guilt without hope or help. Condemnation drives you away from God. It drives you away from a confident and faith-filled prayer life. On the other hand, the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin.

Sin opens the door for condemnation; conviction opens the door for forgiveness. When the Holy Spirit reveals our sin He brings hope and forgiveness. Look at this verse, 1 Jn. 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (NKJV) Condemnation drives you away from God, conviction draws you into God (1 John 1:9). Stand strong in the Word of God. As a believer, you are the righteousness of God. This is what God says about you, now believe it and live it.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the gift of righteousness. Your grace and love have set me free from condemnation. Today I will keep my heart set upon Your righteousness. Thank You for such a wonderful gift. I confess to You any sin and take hold of Your forgiveness and cleansing righteousness. I celebrate the tremendous freedom You have given to me. I again rejoice and proclaim my victory in Christ Jesus my Lord. I am free from the bondage of sin through Jesus. Sin has no more dominion over me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Activation:

Continue to speak victory today. Confess any sin to Jesus and walk today as a free person without any condemnation. Continue to see yourself as free. You are forgiven and free. Rejoice and approach His throne boldly. Righteousness is a gift from Jesus that allows you to be worthy to be in the presence of Almighty God.

God Bless; make it a great day,
