God is so great and He is continually growing, developing, and shaping our body into the church He wants us to be. That’s why last Sunday I was so excited to see our time of worship in music explode with celebration!
A few months ago, I felt the Lord saying that He desires for our church to be a dancing church. Not because He merely wants things to be exciting or fun, even though those things aren’t necessarily bad. It’s just so much more than that.
He wants us to experience a new level of freedom in Him. King David knew of this freedom. When He saw the Ark of the Covenant coming back to Israel’s possession – He lost it! He went wild and crazy! So much so that his wife told him to stop because he was embarrassing her. He didn’t care though, he just kept on dancing – worshiping God with all his strength.
So how much more and better are we off than David was??? Back then His presence could come and go. It lit up Moses’ face but then faded away. Now, with the New Covenant established through Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection and the gift of the Holy Spirit poured out into our hearts, we know His presence is dwelling in us.
The same presence and power that David went nuts over now lives in us! And He’s promised that’ll He will never leave or forsake us. We have only convincing biblical evidence to support the case that we certainly do have a very good reason to dance!
Now, don’t dance just because I said you should. Let this truth be rooted in your heart. Get in the secret place, all alone with Him, and just worship Him in a way that you haven’t before. You may feel strange at first, but don’t let your flesh hinder His praise because He wants you to be free in Him!
Bless you fam!
