Called To Greatness Wichita Update

Hi New Lifers! We are so glad to be co laboring with you right here in Wichita to see lives transformed by the love of God. We are Austin and Naomi Smith of Called to Greatness. You might know us better by our super friendly son, Judah. CTG is a regional church based ministry started in Lawrence, KS reaching the next generation with the Gospel, establishing them in their faith and then sending them all over the nation and world to be salt and light.
You might tend to think of missionaries as those who go overseas to reach the unreached. But believe it or not, there are many unreached people on our college campuses in America. We have students from America who are coming into a college culture designed for them to side line their faith in Christ. It’s our prayer to see students burn with white hot passion to see the Gospel impact their schools and to join with them in seeing a Gospel centered movement birthed on the campuses of our nation

We also have the world at our door step. We, especially in Wichita, have a very special opportunity to care for the “nations” right here in our nation. Jesus loves the nations and we get to participate with Him in bringing His truth and love to them.

You may have noticed a quiet young man named Daniel coming to church with us faithfully every Sunday. Here is an abbreviated version of Daniel’s story:

Hey, I am Daniel Nepali and I am from Nepal….I came to Wichita on 12th Jan 2016 and I was not very happy and very scared of everything.

 

I was seeking God in real for my life to support me. I prayed to him about my family, my financial condition, living expense, tuition and everything. It was hard because there wasn’t peace in my heart. Then, God showed me a scripture Psalm 50:15 ” Call out to me in your troubles, I shall provide you and you shall glorify me ” and that really gave me a strength. I decided not to work illegal but that was the craziest decision I’d ever made. That is stupid for my friends, families and relatives…I started to know God more and call out to him. He did respond me and he send me to the CTG Summer Intensive.

 

I came back from the intensive. All my worries were gone and there was peace in me. …I began to walk with Austin into the campus and started sharing the Gospel as I learnt in intensive. God was doing amazing things there. We met a Japanese guy and we share gospel to him and I took him through the scriptures about baptism and he was ready to get baptized…

 

I had a dream where I met Jesus and God. Jesus told me that God was very happy for me. Another dream, I saw that I went back to Nepal and started training people and taught about ministering…Now, I am going through a book named XPLORE and its about God’s heart and his plan for the world. And I am taking some of my Nepali friends through it online… Praise the lord.

This young man represents an entire nation of unreached people. And here he is in our backyard. We want to thank the family of New Life for all you do to help reach, build and send students. We also want to invite you to roll up your sleeves and join us in reaching the next generation with the love of God.
