This month we are continuing to build up our library of faith confessions. This month we are going to focus on praying for those who are in authority. We are instructed in 1 Timothy 2:1-3 to pray for those in authority in our nation. “I exhort therefore, that first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good in the sight of God our Savior;”
Use these confessions to start your own faith believing for those in authority in our nation, state and city.
i). Father we praise You for the men and women of honor and integrity that You have placed in authority in our nation. (Proverbs 2:10-12)
ii). We speak blessing over the decision makers in our nation that they have ears to hear godly counsel and that You alone hold their hearts. (Proverbs 2:20-22)
iii). In every position of leadership and authority in our nation these leaders serve the people and guide the people in discretion and godly wisdom. (Psalm 33:12)
iv). We rejoice Lord that Your word and Your glorious presence are welcome in every assembly of people.
v). We speak prosperity over our nation. There are good jobs for everyone and abundance is seen by all. We are a people richly blessed and we are a blessing to other nations. (Dueteronomy 28:11-13)
vi). You have told us in Your word that blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. (Psalm 33:12) So by faith we decree that our nation is firmly established upon the Rock, Jesus Christ.
vii). Lord we speak over our nation protection and blessing. Thank you for hiding us beneath the shadow of Your wing and no evil comes nigh our nation in Jesus name. (Psalm 91)
ix). Father, in Jesus name we decree and declare that those who are wicked in Your sight shall be cut off of our government and the treacherous shall be rooted out. (Psalm 9:9)
x). Ungodly agendas were not planted in our nation by heavenly Father, and so we speak to them saying that they must leave now in Jesus name. (Matt. 15:13)
Prayer:
Father, it is our delight to pray Your blessing over those in authority in our nation. We are grateful that the President, his advisors, the entire congress, the court systems, the military, the educators and the military hear the voice of the Good Shepherd and that of the Stranger they do not hear.
Lord Jesus we are happy to proclaim that You came to unwind, loosen, dissolve and destroy the works of the enemy. So for our nation we lift the banner of Your victory and proclaim that as we resist the enemy he flees from our nation as You are destroying every evil work in our nation. Righteousness, peace and joy are the standard of our land. Unjust scales, evil agendas, manipulation and fear bow their knee to the name of Jesus and are removed from our nation. In the glorious name of Jesus we do pray. Amen.
