Psalm 100 “Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.” NKJV

If you would take time to read this Psalm and reread it. Study it for a moment, it is filled with
Godly instruction and insight. This psalm is all about communion and fellowship with the Lord. This psalm
provides a wonderful peek into God’s kingdom. It shouts to us, “This is the way it works!” This psalm is
filled with praise, excitement, joy, singing, and thanksgiving. I really enjoy the way The Message
paraphrases this psalm, “On your feet now — applaud God! Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into
His presence. Know this: God is God, and God, God. He made us; we didn’t make Him. We’re His people,
His well-tended sheep. Enter with the password: “Thank You!” Make yourselves at home, talking praise.
Thank Him. Worship Him. For God is sheer beauty, all-generous in love, loyal always and ever.”

“Enter with the password: “Thank You!” Isn’t that a wonderful picture? You come into the Lord’s
presence with, “Thanks.” Being truly thankful to the Lord is a real part of the Kingdom of God. He alone is
worthy of our praise and thanks. Because of God’s loving goodness, kindness and grace we are blessed.
The entire earth is filled with His glory. Every day is a gift given to us from the Lord. When we give the
Lord our heartfelt thanks we align ourselves with His “life giving” principles. Our thanksgiving helps to
assure us and the world that we give the proper recognition to the one to whom it is truly due.

The Lord is worthy, look at this picture of heaven in Revelation 5, “Then I looked, and I heard the
voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was
ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: ‘Worthy is the
Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and
blessing!’ And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in
the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: ‘Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who
sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!'” (NKJV). These scriptures paint a marvelous
picture of the awareness that heaven has regarding the greatness of the Lord. When we give our
thanksgiving and praise it carries with it a certain portion of humility. The more we recognize God’s great
provision and love the more we are made aware of our complete and total dependency upon the Lord.

As we enter this month of “Thanksgiving” let’s remind ourselves of how truly blessed we are. And
may we consciously decide to give the Lord the thanks He so deserves. Let’s do life His way, Enter into His
gates with thanksgiving, And come into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
This is the way to life and Godliness. This is the way of His kingdom. Make this your best Thanksgiving
ever.

Blessings,
Pastor Kit
